January 18Th is the day when legendary writer Saadat Hassan Manto died years ago, He lived a short eventful life, full of struggle and creativity.
He migrated to Pakistan in 1948, and lived in "Laxmi Mention" on "Mall Rd Lahore", and read at "Pak Tea House" frequently.
Before he left India, he was popular as film script writer there.
Manto's famous books include Bou, Dhuan, Thanda gosht , ... he was too daring in his expression for that era , and even today still can be called bold ...
He died young but left impact on literary culture of our society, lots of his characters became legendary later...
Here we plan to talk about books written in Pakistan, By a Pakistani writer or about publications which represent Pakistani perspective . You can find reviews of books in Urdu or English both... We will talk about it all... from reading and writing to publishing...and from new ideas to changing culture of books in Pakistan.
